The ARPS Library
A Gateway to Knowledge

The ARPS Library, located just in front of the Conference Hall, serves as a vital academic and intellectual hub for the entire school community. Designed to foster a love for reading and independent learning, the library is a quiet, resource-rich environment where students and staff can explore a wide array of subjects and interests.
With a well-organized and constantly updated collection, the library currently houses over 3,500 plus textbooks and reference books spanning a broad spectrum of disciplines including literature, science, mathematics, history, and the arts. It also features a diverse range of periodicals—12 in total—alongside 4 daily newspapers available in English, Hindi, and Assamese, ensuring students stay informed about current events and global affairs.
A special highlight of the ARPS Library is its comprehensive selection of encyclopaedias and general knowledge resources, which provide in-depth information on topics ranging from science and technology to culture and world history. These resources support research, project work, and broaden students’ horizons beyond the classroom curriculum.
The library operates on an Open Access System, allowing users to browse freely through shelves and personally select the books they wish to read or borrow. This system encourages curiosity and independence in learning. Friendly and knowledgeable staff are always on hand to assist with book selection, referencing, and other library services.
To ensure regular usage and reading habits, students from Classes 1 to 12 are allotted one dedicated library period per week. During this time, they are encouraged to explore books of their interest, participate in silent reading sessions, or engage in guided research activities.
The ARPS Library stands as a cornerstone of our academic environment—cultivating not only academic excellence but also a lifelong passion for reading and learning.
